Programs

Heaven’s Table established several partnerships to accomplish its mission of serving hungry people in Martin County.

• Food Distribution: Customers place their orders and are served in their vehicles. Orders are fulfilled by volunteers. Our services are available at the following times:

  • Fairmont location: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5–7 p.m. Saturdays 9–11 a.m.
  • Sherburn location: Second Saturday 9–11 a.m., Tuesday after the second Saturday 6–7 p.m., third Saturday 9–10 a.m.

Community Drop Box Program: Heaven’s Table is partnering with most smaller communities in Martin County to provide a box of food and one perishable meat item monthly for residents in need.  Residents must sign up for the service with the city in which they reside.  This program is being funded through a grant.  Volunteers pack boxes and help with delivery to the various communities.

Backpack Program: Nutritious snacks and meals for the weekend are sent home from school with eligible students in grades K–six at participating Martin County schools. Donations, grants and volunteers make this happen. Sign up for this program through your school social worker.

NAPS: Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors. A NAPS food box is provided once a month to eligible seniors age 60 plus. This is a government funded program facilitated by Heaven’s Table Food Shelf. Application forms available at our site. Customers will then be contacted by Second Harvest about eligibility and other details. NAP boxes are distributed on the 2nd Thursday of each month from our Fairmont location from12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

• Delivery/Pick-up Options: Prairie Lakes Transit assists with delivery of food to customers who have a need due to COVID quarantine or lack of transportation. Phone orders are taken at Heaven’s Table, (507) 238-5424. This is currently funded by grants from area foundations. Customers with transportation who cannot get to Heaven’s Table during regular open hours can call 507-238-5424 to place an order and arrange a pick-up time

• Spanish-speaking Customers: Heaven’s Table has bilingual volunteers available by phone during distribution to assist customers in getting the food they need. An online order program with a photo, English word and Spanish word is under development. Grant money is used for this effort.
